AKEWZ Store respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and how you can ask to see or correct it.

We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Information we collect

When you place an order, contact us or submit a review, we may collect:

• Your name
• Email address and telephone number
• Delivery address and postcode
• Products ordered, selected options and order notes
• Order, payment and delivery status
• Messages or enquiries you send us
• Product-review information you choose to submit
• Basic technical information needed to operate, secure and understand use of the website

Please provide only the information needed for your order or enquiry. Do not place sensitive personal information in the order-notes field.

Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal. AKEWZ Store receives the information needed to confirm and manage your order, such as the payment status and PayPal order reference.

We do not receive or store your complete card number, PayPal password or PayPal login details. PayPal handles that information under its own privacy terms.

Why we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Process and fulfil orders
• Make, pack and deliver products
• Contact you about an order, enquiry or delivery problem
• Provide customer service and handle returns or refunds
• Publish and manage product reviews where you have submitted one
• Maintain business, tax and transaction records

We will not sell or rent your personal information.

Who may receive your information

We disclose personal information only when reasonably necessary. This may include:

• Ben and authorised AKEWZ carers or administrators who process orders
• PayPal, which processes payments
• Courier and postal providers, which need delivery details
• Website hosting, database and security providers
• Email-service providers used to send operational notifications
• Professional advisers or government agencies where disclosure is required or permitted by law

Some service providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. We select services intended to protect information appropriately and remain responsible for personal information processed on our behalf as required by New Zealand law.

The shop's internal new-order alert does not include the customer's delivery address. Authorised carers must sign in to the protected Sales & Orders page to view it.

Reviews

If you submit a product review, we may publish the name or display name, rating and comments you provide. Your email address and order details will not be shown publicly as part of the review.

We may moderate, decline or remove reviews that contain personal information, abusive material, spam or content unrelated to the product.

Cookies, browser storage and analytics

The website may use cookies or browser storage that are necessary for features such as the shopping cart, checkout, security and administrator sign-in.

We may also use website analytics to understand general site use and improve the shop. Where analytics are enabled, the provider may collect information such as device type, browser, pages visited and approximate location. You can restrict cookies through your browser settings, although some shop functions may then not work correctly.

How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including protected administrator access and restricted order-management pages. Access to customer information is limited to people who need it to operate the shop and fulfil orders.

No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will follow the notification requirements of the Privacy Act 2020.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including fulfilling orders, resolving problems and meeting tax, accounting and legal requirements. Information that is no longer required will be deleted or securely disposed of where reasonably practicable.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it or ask us to correct it.
